Morris “Kool” Richard , Jr.

Through the door of heaven God looked upon Earth for a man, Morris ““Kool” Richard, Jr.
He was born on June 19, 1961 to Joyce and Morris Richard, Sr. He was a hard worker and very talented in his work.
He died at 12:24 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 2 p.m. in Starlight Baptist Church in Rayne with Rev. Nathan Stevens officiating.
Burial will be in Branch Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Syrie Funeral Home in Lafayette on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 to 2 p.m. at Starlight Baptist Church.
He served in the United States Army and was a member of Starlight Baptist Church. He touched a lot of people with the word of God.
Cherishing Kool’s memories are his parents, Joyce and Morris Richard, Sr.; three daughters, Morinicqua and Markaisha Richard and Chaqueanna (Bernard) Wilridge; two sons, Markinley Tezeno and Nathan Richard; five grandchildren, Daylon and Koen Richard, Juan Teal, Kwan Treal and Jah Leigha Wilridge; five sisters, Dorothy Cole and Angela (Leroy), both of Rayne, Peggy Harmon, Galveston, Texas; Mamie (Bobby) Charles of Bowling, Texas; and Barbara (Linus) of Medesto, Calif; two brothers, Kenneth Richard, Port Arthur, Texas and Henry Richard, Duson; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, a godchild, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David Jody Richard, and his grandparents.
Syrie Funeral Home of Lafayette is in charge of funeral arrangements.
