Marie Miller

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 23, at 1 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Marie Miller, 75, who passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at 5:49 a.m. at her home in Rayne surrounded by family and friends.
Fr. Samuel Fontana, associate pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Church New Cemetery in Rayne.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Friday, May 22, at 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7 o’clock in the evening in the funeral home chapel in Rayne. Visitation will resume on Saturday, May 23, at 8 a.m. until time of the services.
Survivors include her grandson, Nicholas Miller and fiancée Misty Truitt of Orlando, Florida; six great-grandchildren, Haley, Kameron, Landon and Brooklyn Miller, Mason and Dalton Truitt; one future granddaughter, Miley Marie Miller; two sisters, Mandy Rose Simon of Winnie, Texas, and Cecilia and husband Glen Jones of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Vernice Hargrave of Crowley and August and wife Louise Hargrave of Franklin; and 16 nieces and nephews.
Ms. Marie was preceded in death by husband, Raleigh Miller; one son, Stanley Miller; her parents, John and Sarah Hargrave of Lyons Point; and one brother, Wallace Hargrave of Baton Rouge.
Ms. Marie worked several years at the Bank of Commerce of Rayne where she later retired from the main office of Bank of Commerce of Crowley. She was active in ABWA, the Catholic Daughters; she was one of the Biscuit Ladies as well as one of the Cruise Ladies. She really enjoyed playing cards and dancing with her friends. Ms. Marie really enjoyed life that will be very much missed by all who knew her.
Pallbearers for her services will be Allen Miller, Sandra Frederick, Susan Doucet, Kameron Miller, Landon Miller and Dylan Sensat. John A. Jones will be a honorary pallbearer for the services as well.
The vocalist will be Tammy Gautreaux and her great-granddaughter, Haley Miller. Readers will be Melissa Hodges and Terry Lynn Hoffpauir.
