Douglas “June” Jolivette Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at The Shrine of Our Mother Mercy Catholic Church in Rayne for Douglas “June” Jolivette Jr., 68, of Rayne who passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 7:45 p.m. at his residence. Father Richard Wagner will be officiating the services. Interment will follow in The Shrine of Our Mother Mercy Church Cemetery.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Carney Funeral Home, which is located at 602 North Pierce St, Lafayette, LA. A rosary will be prayed and lead by Father Richard Wagner at 7:00 p.m.
Douglas “June” Jolivette Jr., was born on October 25, 1946 in Rayne LA. to the parents of the late Douglas Jolivette Sr. and the late Corrine Raymond Jolivette.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two nephews Dwayne Jolivette and Damien Jolivette. One great nephew Jermarion Jolivette, one brother in law William Floyd
He leaves to cherish his memories his five children, Gwendolyn J. Rochester (Rev. Charles Sr.) of Rayne, LA, Yolanda J. Marshall (Kenneth Sr.) of Denham Springs, LA, Vanessa Jolivette of Rayne, LA, and their mother Bernadette Cole of Rayne, LA; Quinten Arceneaux (Nyleen) of Crowley LA and April Dixon of Lake Charles LA; two brothers, Peter Jolivette of Rayne, LA and Michael Jolivette of Houston, TX; Seven sisters, Mary J. Floyd of Houston, TX, Helen Jolivette, and Betty Jolivette both of Rayne, LA., Margaret J. Reed of Duson, LA., Edna Jolivette of Conway, AR, Geraldine Jolivette of Rayne, LA., and Martha J. Smith of Brigham, AL; one uncle Elton Guidry of Rayne, LA. Two aunts Cecile Johnson of Rayne, LA. And Theresa Landry of Kansas City, KS; eight grandchildren, Charles Rochester Jr., Quincy Rochester, Kieran Jolivette, Quindolyn Rochester, Kennedi Marshall, Elijah Dixon, Taylon Young, and Janiyah Young, one great grandson Jordan Jolivette; Along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Serving as Pallbearers are, Joshua Reed, Jabbar Floyd, Peter Jolivette Jr., Jarvis Jolivette, Brian Jolivette, and Troy Daigle Jr.
