Ramona Daigle Pole

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Ramona Daigle Pole, 86.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services. Msgr. Jefferson J. Deblanc, pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will conduct the services.
Ramona Daigle Pole was welcomed into the world on Dec. 21, 1928, by her loving parents, Benjamin and Hazel Bell Daigle of Church Point. She died peacefully with great dignity on June 20, 2015, in her home in Church Point, surrounded by her family. She has been welcomed into heaven by her parents; her loving husband of 50 years, Walter “Tally” Pole Jr.; and beloved sons, Philip and Brandon.
Ramona graduated from Dominican High School in New Orleans and college from Ward Belmont in Nashville, Tennessee. She was married soon thereafter and began a family. When not raising her children, Ramona enjoyed traveling, playing cards with friends, crafts and other creative projects. She was a life-long member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church and a devout Catholic, with a special fondness for Latin Mass. Ramona touched many lives with her quiet prayers and heartfelt generosity.
She leaves behind her devoted children, Melanie “Posie” Carrier and husband Ronald of Sunset, Laura Pole and partner Suzana Muller of Roanoke, Virginia, Giovanna “Gigi” Purcell and husband Tom of Bullock Creek, South Carolina, and Kevin Pole of Welsh. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Benjamin Courtney Carrier and wife Kelly, Laurie-Ellen Guidry and husband Chad, Brooke Carrier and partner Val Clayton, Dustin Pole and wife Haley and Garret Pole, as well as Dustin and Garret’s mother, Darlene Miller. Ramona had five great-grandchildren.
For the past 18 months of Ramona’s long life, Heart of Hospice skillfully and compassionately helped her live quality days in the comfort of her own home. The family wishes to thank Heart of Hospice as well as her devoted sitters and helpers for the blessings of their attention.
