Phylis Barber Striker
RENO, NV –– A Life of Celebration will be held at the home of Phylis Barber Striker in Reno Nevada at a later date. Mrs. Striker, 41, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, July 7, 2015, surrounded by her family.
A former resident of Rayne, La., Phylis was born on September 8, 1973, in Rome, New York. Upon graduating from Oriskany Central High School in 1991, she enlisted in the United States Air Force. She served her time in Denver, Colorado, and Los Angeles, California.
Phylis loved fishing, crabbing, photography and spending time at the beach with her kids.
In 1920, Phylis completed her studies and became a dedicated nurse enjoying helping care for people. In her time as a mother, her kids took center stage, always being her first thoughts in the morning and her last thoughts at night.
Phylis is survived by her loving husband, Darly Striker; her eight-month old baby boy, Mathew Lynn Striker; her daughters, Kelsey Lynn, Paige Elizabeth and Lauren Elise Richard. She is also survived by her mother, Minica Tomassi of Cantelle, Pennsylvania; her father, LeRoy Barber of Reno, Nevada; her brothers, Michael (wife Kellie) of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Christopher (fiancee Nikki) of Cantelle, Pennsylvania, and Scott (wife Christina) of Reno, Nevada; her nephew, Marcus Barbert of Reno, Nevada; in in-laws, Richard and Fay Striker of Reno, Nevada; and the father of her three girls and good friend, Kevin Richard.
