Plan board supports 2 proposals

The Rayne Planning Commission approved two recommendations to the Rayne City Council on Monday afternoon.
The application of Vanessa Jolivette to place a trailer at 302 Third Street, now zoned R-1, was recommended.
Commissioners also recommended a request to re-orient three city blocks at the corner of Bella and West B North Street from an east-west orientation to a north-south orientation in order to place a trailer on one of the three lots owned by Willie Leblanc. The recommendation is contingent on the property owner surveying the property and recording the conversion with the Acadia Parish Clerk of Court.
Building Inspector Mark Daigle also discussed the proper procedure regarding the sale of a portion of a city street. No decision was made.
