French Mass to celebrate Assumption feast day

St. Joseph Catholic Church will celebrate a Mass in French on Saturday, Aug. 15, in observance of the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary.
Father Kevin Bordelon, pastor, will offer the Mass at 9 a.m.
The Feast of the Assumption is not a holy day of obligation, but the French Mass will be celebrated because it is an important Marian feast and the National Day of the Acadians, marking their exile.
The Mass readings will be recited in English, but all prayers and Mass segments will be in French. A booklet will be provided to participants to follow the Mass.
