Jean Pastor Hanks

Funeral services will be held at Duhon Funeral Home in Crowley on Sept. 9, at 3 p.m. for Jean Pastor Hanks, with Pastor Joey Reed officiating. Visitation was held at Duhon Funeral Home - Crowley on Sept. 8, from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 8 a.m. until just prior to service time.
Interment will follow the service at Hanks’ Cemetery North.
The family and friends of Jean Pastor Hanks are mourning the loss of their dearly beloved one who was called from this life on Sept. 7, 2015, at the age of 78. Jean loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was also called to be a nurse. She received her Licensed Practical Nurse certification in 1976. She loved the selfless task of taking care of others. Jean was a proud member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Johnny Hanks; and her four children, Patrick Hanks and Kenneth Hanks of Crowley, Carolyn Hanks Pray of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Shirley Hanks Jobe of Troup, Texas; two sisters Earline Pastor Spell of Maxie and Linda Pastor Greenan of Raleigh, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Justin, Jesse and Jeremy Hanks; Madison, Nicholas, Nathaniel, Maximilian and Arden Jobe; and Beau and Ava Pray.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Lumay John Pastor Sr. and Ernestine LaBorde Pastor; and five brothers Lora “Poor Boy” Pastor, Anthony “Buster” Pastor, Daniel Pastor, Robert “Bobby” Pastor and Lumay John Pastor Jr.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Hanks, Justin Hanks, Jesse Hanks, Jeremy Hanks, Nicholas Jobe, Wil Fruge and Danny Hancock. Nathaniel Jobe, Maximilian Jobe and Beau Pray are honorary pallbearers.
