Robert Lee Wiley, Sr.
Rayne –– Funeral services for Mr. Robert Lee “Bubba” Wiley, Sr., 71, of Rayne will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in Cunningham CME Church, Rayne, under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home. Reverend Cozy Gage, pastor of St. Matthew Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Community Garden Cemetery, Rayne.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015, from 8:00 a.m. until service time in the church.
Mr. Wiley passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015, at 11:45 a.m. in his Rayne residence.
A lifelong resident of Rayne, Mr. Wiley was a member of Cunningham CME Church. He attended culinary school, and had worked for many years as a cook in area restaurants, including The Petroleum Club in Lafayette, and Johnson’s Drive-In in Rayne. Mr. Wiley later fulfilled a dream by opening his own restaurant, Bubba’s Place, in Rayne.
Survivors include his daughters, Shantel Sylvester and husband, Hilton, of Rayne, and Brandie Wiley and husband, Redd, of Rayne; son, Robert Lee Wiley, Jr. and wife, Crystal, of Eunice; brother, LeRoy Bellizare of Rayne; grandchildren, Myshatera Sylvester, Lanie Julien, A’Jani Wiley, and Mason Wiley; great-grandchildren, Irving Broussard, Jr. and Armyni Sylvester; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding Mr. Wiley in death were his wife, Hearvy McClelland Wiley; parents, Earl “Boone” Guidry and Evelyn Bellizare; and brother, Terry Wiley, Sr.
