Edna Abshire Lopez

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Edna Abshire Lopez, 95, who died May 11, 2015, at Southwind Nursing Home.
Fr. Mark Miley, associate pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to the time of service.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Dale Lopez and wife Ann of Hope Mills, North Carolina; one daughter, Dorothy Lopez of Crowley; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Ms. Lopez is preceded in death by two daughters, Amelia and Norma Lopez; her parents, Dorty and Edna Bertrand Abshire; one sister, Esther Marie Istre; and three brothers, Cladist “Tom” Abshire, Onezine “Jim” Istre and Felix John Istre.
