Eloise Mouton Gielen

 

Eloise Mouton Gielen passed away peacefully Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Southwind Healthcare & Rehabilitation at the age of 98. She was the longest living First Lady of Crowley.

Best known as “Sally,” she leaves behind a son, Marvin Gielen and wife Linda; a daughter, Gretchen Hebert and husband Lester; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold “Joe” Gielen, the former mayor of Crowley; her son, Arnold “Fonfe” Gielen Jr.; her parents, Amede and Carmen Arceneaux Mouton; and four sisters, Lizzie Mouton, Frances Prejean, Carmen Benton and May Wilton.

Sally donated her body to science for longevity studies since she and her sisters all lived to be in their 90s.
