Estelle Begnaud

Rayne-A Mass of Christian Burial for Estelle Begnaud, 74, of Rayne will be celebrated on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10:30 AM in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, Rayne. Father Richard Wagner will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 8:30 AM until 10:00 AM in Gossen Funeral Home, with a rosary being recited at 8:30 AM.

Ms. Begnaud passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 10:55 AM in a Lafayette hospital.

A native of Rayne, Ms. Begnaud was a faithful member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, where she also served as housekeeper for several years. She had also worked at other jobs during her lifetime, including greeter at Walmart, and scrub technician at Rayne-Branch Hospital. Ms. Begnaud enjoyed reading, and was a fan of NCIS and The Food Network.

Ms. Begnaud leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Deanna Begnaud of Rayne; brothers, Anthony Roy Begnaud and wife, Kathy of Broussard, and Philip Floyd Begnaud and wife, Linda of Carencro; nephews, Anthony Mangler, Solomon “Buck” Begnaud, Philip Christopher Begnaud, and Philip Andrew Begnaud; nieces, Carolyn Normand and husband, Ricky, Wanda Gail Simmons, Andrea Taylor and husband, Carl, Kimberly D. Kaamil, Joy Jaegar and husband, Andy, and Megan A. Begnaud; great-nephews, Kyle Dmitri Kaamil, Anthony Josiah Mangler, Jarred Taylor, Carl Taylor, Jr., Ryan Norman, Allen Simmons, and Alex Simmons; and great-niece, Ashley Norman.

Preceding Ms. Begnaud in death were her parents, Comille and Lillie Morrison Begnaud; brothers, Andrew Begnaud and Joseph Begnaud; and nephew, Comille James “Neal” Begnaud.
