Gerald James LeDoux
A Mass of Christian Burial will held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Gerald James, LeDoux, 81, who died April 24, 2015, at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Monday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday. Interment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Gerald always had his shop door open to help friends, neighbors, and family. He was a welder by trade but his passion was to see his cows in the pasture; and to be with his great-grandchildren as they gathered the eggs from the hen house. They loved their paw paw and everyone was “YoCo” to him, both young and old.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie Leger LeDoux of Iota; three daughters, Donna Parsley and husband Darrel of Iota, Ellen LeDoux of Iota and Kathy Thevis and husband Steven of Iota; two sons, Keith LeDoux and wife Jenny of Jennings and Mark LeDoux and wife Sharron of Iota; one sister, Genelle Daigle of Iota; 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. LeDoux is preceded in death by his daughter, Mona LeDoux; his parents, James and Mable Leger LeDoux; two granddaughters, Samantha LeDoux, and Mary Ellen Dupont; and his brother-in-law, P.J. Daigle.
