Joseph Spencer

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 20, at 11 a.m. at Israelite Baptist Church in Crowley for Joseph Spencer, 81, who passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015, at 3:35 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Rev. Ivan J. Lewis, pastor of Israelite Baptist Church in Crowley, will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the West Crowley Cemetery in Crowley.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Saturday, June 20, at 8 a.m. until time of services, all at the Israelite Baptist Church in Crowley.
Survivors include his companion, Phyllis Levine of Abbeville; two daughters, Detra Crawford and husband Keith of Lake Charles and Lora Wiltz of Crowley; three sons, Kernal Spencer of Crowley, Dedrick Jones and wife Tonya of Lake Charles and Chad Wiltz and wife Micoi of Crowley; one sister, Sylvia Carrier and husband Louis of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Wesley Spencer of Crowley and Sherman Spencer Sr. of Fayetteville, Georgia; one stepbrother, Arthur Lee Spencer of Anawak, Texas; and 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Olevia B. Spencer; one sister, Julia Clues; and two brothers, Ivory Spencer and Yancy Spencer.
