Mrs. Margie (Landry) Giggar

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Estherwood for Margie Marie Landry Giggar, who died Friday, June 19, 2015, at the Ava Marie Nursing Home in Memphis, Tennessee. She was born April 8, 1926, in Estherwood to Nezaphor and Elia Landry.
Margie married Leo Alfred Giggar of Welsh on Aug. 23, 1950. She worked as a photographer assistant, telephone operator and part-time substitute teacher and hairdresser.
Fr. Randall Moreau, pastor of St. Margaret Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 6 p.m. Interment will be in Estherwood Memorial Cemetery.
Margie is survived by a son, Jan Giggar of Little Rock, Arkansas; two daughters, Monya Giggar Johnson and husband Robert “Bob” of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Jennifer Giggar Primeaux of Monument, Colorado; five grandchildren, Brandon Ware and wife Marcy, Josh Ware and wife Staci, Joseph Primeaux, Michael Giggar and Bethany Primeaux; and six great-granddaughters, Bayleigh, Addison and Haidyn Ware, Kenzie Ware and Delacia Primeaux.
She is preceded in death by husband, Leo Giggar; parents, Nezaphor and Elia Landry of Estherwood; sister, Gracie Horn of Iowa; and brother, Elias “Pi” Landry of Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association: P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011 in Margie’s honor.
