Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. at Forest Park Church of Christ in Crowley for Richard Benoit Sr., 70, who passed away on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at 8 p.m. at the Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.

Rev. Jason Corder, pastor of Forest Park Church of Christ will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the Ky Hebert Cemetery in Roberts Cove.

At the family’s request, visitation was held on Tuesday, 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Visitation will resume at 8 a.m. till time of services on Wednesday, all in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Bessie J. Benoit of Crowley; four sons, Richard Lee Benoit Jr. of Crowley, Kurt and wife Jody Benoit of Rayne, David and wife Chasity Sonnier of Gueydan and Brannan and wife Nicole Benoit of Crowley; two daughters, Kelly Leger of Gueydan and Drue B. and husband Earl Guillory of Crowley; four sisters, Margaret Ann Broussard of Crowley, Martha Guidry of Gueydan, Linda Paige of Westlake and Celeste and husband Ross Trahan of New Iberia; 29 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Richard was preceded in death by two daughters, Natalie “Nikki” Sonnier Feverjean and Angela “Angie” Benoit Credeur; one granddaughter, Kieran Joy Benoit; his parents, Clyde and Ruth Benoit; one brother, Meryl Benoit; and one sister, Lynn Fall.
