Rita Vondenstein Foret

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Rita Vondenstein Foret, 87, who died Friday, July 3, 2015, at 8:20 a.m. at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate the services. The family requests visiting hours Monday, July 13, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, July 14, from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited Monday at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mrs. Foret is survived by three daughters, Cindy McDaniel and her husband Sammy, Nell Meaux and her husband Randy an Tracie Dupre and her husband Ray, all of Iota; one sister, Annie V. Schultz of Mowata; nine grandchildren, Craig and Heather McDaniel, Jon and Hollie McDaniel, Nancy and Brian Leonards, Corey Meaux, Kristy and Stuart Taylor, Robin and Luke Hebert, Lauren and Jamin Tyson, Whitney and Ethan Bieber and Taylor Dupre; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Foret Jr.; her parents, Peter and Helen Wirtz Vondenstein; one sister, Mary V. Fontenot; and two brothers, John and Tony Vondenstein.
The family of Mrs. Foret would like to thank Dr. Stephen Cannon, the nursing staff of Acadia General Hospital, Nicole Doucet, NP, Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, especially nurses, Faye, Marie and Mary for their special care provided during her illness. We are forever grateful to her friends and caregivers, Pam Spencer and Melody Guillory.
