Rose T. Lavergne Ancelet

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, La. for Ms. Rose T. Lavergne Ancelet, 97 who passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at 6:15 a.m. at the Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, La.

Fr. Kendal Faulk, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be officiating for the services.  The Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Church New Cemetery in Rayne.

The family is requesting the visitation to be held on Friday, August 01, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel in Rayne.  A Rosary will be recited Friday, August 01, 2014, at 6 in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will resume on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

Survivors include, one son, James and wife, Marjorie Lavergne of Rayne; one daughter, Jeannette Lavergne Dupont of Rayne; one step daughter, Ima Dean and William Guidry of Lafayette; two sisters, Joyce Higginbotham of Church Point and Rena Bernard of Scott ; one brother, Ned Thibodeaux of Jennings; eight grandchildren, Mark Dupont, Bernadette Jennings, Michelle Vernoy, Toni Hoffpauir, Chris Dupont, Stephen Dupont, Paul Dupont and Lynette Guidry Racca; two step grandchildren, Pam and Debbie Guidry; 18 great grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Ms. Rose was preceded in death by her first husband, Elza Lavergne; her second husband, Clovis Ancelet; one great grandson, David Scott Jennings; her parents, Ardus and Virginia S. Thibodeaux; two sisters, Alice Savoy and Evie Lavergne; five brothers, Evan, Issac, Lee, Arthur and Ben Thibodeaux; one step grandson, Craig Guidry.
