Shirley Lee Oliver
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at St. Michael Chapel in Egan for Shirley Lee Oliver, 89, who died Friday, May 15, 2015, at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Jennings.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Michael Chapel, will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in Sensat Cemetery.
Mr. Oliver was a member of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by three daughters, Shirlene Oliver Cannata and husband Richard of Glen Cove, New York, Julie Oliver White and husband Keith of Fort Worth, Texas, and Michelle Oliver D’Orio and husband John of Islip, New York; two sons, John Oliver and wife Pamela of Lafayette, and David Oliver and wife Nannette of Lafayette; one sister, Nell Oliver Holt of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Oliver is preceded in death by his wife, Gwendyl Trahan Oliver; his parents, Leo and Lillian Regan Oliver; one sister, Lou Oliver Miller; and two brothers, Leo Oliver II, and Daryl Oliver.
