Terri Lynn Hetzel Nugent

Funeral services for Terri Lynn Hetzel Nugent, 54, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church of Raymond with Rev. William Miller officiating.
Visitation will be at Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Interment will follow at Raymond Community Cemetery in Raymond.
Mrs. Nugent was a member of the 1978 graduating class of Hathaway High School and she married Howard Nugent Jr. in 1980. She was a resident of Hathaway for most of her life.
Terri died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at 10:32 p.m. after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was a kind, loving, and generous wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. A quick wit and dry humor were among her most endearing traits, and especially displayed to her family and close friends even in her last days. She enjoyed entertaining in her home, camping with her family and friends, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Terri was employed by G&H Seed Company in Crowley for many years and was most grateful for the love and support she received from her co-workers.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Nugent Jr; two sons, Joshua Nugent and Andrew Nugent, both of Hathaway; three grandsons, Gatlin, Colt and Remy Nugent of Hathaway; her parents, William and Betty Hetzel of Hathaway; two sisters, Martha Hetzel Robertson and husband Mike Robertson of St. Francisville, and Mary Hetzel Pollard of Broussard; two brothers, Glen Hetzel and wife Mindy Fontenot Hetzel of Hathaway and James Hetzel of Denham Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clyde and Dora Bruchhaus Schlesinger of Elton; and her paternal grandparents, William and Magloria Clement Hetzel of Jennings.
Serving as pallbearers are Josh Nugent, Drew Nugent, Glenn Hetzel, James Hetzel, Joe Nugent and Al Ritter.
The Nugent and Hetzel families wish to acknowledge the caring services provided by Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care of Jennings, as well as the loving care provided by each of her sitters.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Melissa Doise Foundation.
