WIlfred E. Fruge
Funeral services for Mr. Wilfred E. Fruge Sr., 84, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel with Rev. James Townley officiating.
Burial will be in the North Hanks Cemetery in Crowley.
Funeral home visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday; and 8 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
Mr. Fruge died at 2:50 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at his residence in Evangeline.
He was a lifelong resident of Evangeline and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked in the oilfield and was self-employed — the oilfield was his life. He loved to work, fish and hunt.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Touchet and husband Charles of Winnsboro, Carla Hancock of Evangeline and Jacqueline Fruge of Plantation, Florida; one son, Wil Fruge of Evangeline; one sister, Carolyn Blair and husband Presley of Gueydan; one brother, Norman Fruge and wife Catherine of Plaquemine; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Fruge is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ida Dietz Fruge; his wife, Elva Hanks Fruge; four sisters, Rosina Bertrand, Molly Ledbetter, Velma Golden and Ethel Fruge; three brothers, Ernest, David and Carl Fruge; and son-in-law, Alan Hancock.
