Sportsmen’s League fishing tournament winners listed

 

The Acadiana Sportsmen’s League sponsored its 33rd ASL Annual Saltwater Fishing Tournament on Saturday, June 21, held at any landing in Louisiana as announced by chairmen Ken Bordelon and Dee DeRouen.

Fishing took place Saturday between 1 a.m. and 6 p.m. with boundaries including Texas to the west and Mississippi to the east. All Wildlife and Fisheries, State and Local Regulations were observed.

Weigh-in took place between 3-6 p.m. at the LSU Ag Building in Crowley with cash prizes awarded in four categories: red fish, speckled trout, flounder and black drum.

Top fishermen for the day were:

Redfish - 1st place Richard Stutes 7.55; 2nd place Mark Menard 6.11; 3rd place Robert Pellissier 5.99.

Speck - 1st place Jo Dave Petijean 3.03; 2nd place Bobby Cormier II 2.65; 3rd place Paul Touchet 2.21.

Flounder -1st place Bobby Cormier II 2.65; 2nd place Burt Smith 2.64, 3rd place Dustin Touchet 2.21.

Drum - 1st place Carl Schexnyder 14.98; 2nd place Lane Miller 12.45, 3rd place Carson Tayler 7.84.

Door prizes were also given away after all the fish were weighed in. Barbecue hamburgers and refreshments were provided to all participants.

Thanks to the many participants and supporters of the 2014 event is expressed by the ASL for another successful tournament.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the many events and programs the Acadiana Sportsmen’s League sponsor throughout the year.
