Sportsmen’s League fishing tournament winners listed

The Acadiana Sportsmen’s League sponsored its 34th ASL Annual Saltwater Fishing Tournament on Saturday, June 20, held at any landing in Louisiana as announced by 2015 chairmen Ken Bordelon and Dee DeRouen.
Fishing took place Saturday between 1 a.m. and 6 p.m. with boundaries including Texas to the west and Mississippi to the east. All Wildlife and Fisheries, State and Local Regulations were observed.
Weigh-in took place between 3-6 p.m. at the LSU Ag Building in Crowley with cash prizes awarded in five categories: red fish, speckled trout, flounder, drum and other.
Top fishermen for the day were:
Redfish - 1st place Jace Freeman (6.43), 2nd place Greg Meche (5.41), 3rd place Donald Dupuis (4.88).
Speck - 1st place David Guidry )2.20), Troy Skelton (2.17), 3rd place Tim David (1.83).
Flounder -1st place Greg Meche (1.25), 2nd place (.88), 3rd place Nick LeBlanc (.60).
Drum - 1st place Carl Schnedier (15.47), 2nd place Joe Guidry (6.49), 3rd place Joe Guidry (4.06).
Other - 1st place Mark Manuel (18.35 garfish), 2nd place Dee DeRouen (5.00 Gaff top), 3rd place Kevin Zaunbrecher (4.93 sheep head).
Door prizes were also given away after all the fish were weighed in. Barbecue hamburgers and refreshments were provided to all participants.
Thanks to the many participants and supporters of the 2015 event is expressed by the ASL for another successful tournament.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the many events and programs the Acadiana Sportsmen’s League sponsors throughout the year.
