Prep Basketball Roundup: NCS' Wilson has big night
CROWLEY – Northside Christian’s Ty Wilson is no stranger to big nights.
Through eight games, he led Warriors in nearly every offensive category, scoring 16 points or better in all but two outings.
On Tuesday, however, he was more dominant than ever.
The senior lit up Church Point for a career-high 41 points, leading the Warriors to an 82-67 victory over the visiting Bears.
“Ty pretty much did it all tonight,” said NCS coach Glenn Daigle. “Penetrating in, shooting it from the outside; he just did a great job. This was his best performance yet.”
Wilson, who sank four 3-pointers on the night, also nailed down another career feat when he grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 13 assists to record his first ever triple-double.
The Warriors took a 44-30 lead in the first half behind 20 points from Wilson and then outscored the Bears 38-37 over the final two frames.
Bradley Ancelet pitched in 14 points and Cole Henry and Jonathan Herman each had 10. Nick Martin contributed four points, Dustin Hernandez scored two and Dillon Hayes had one.

Rebels fall short
LEESVILLE – The Midland Rebels dug themselves a deep hole in the first half that even a 50-point outburst in the second half couldn’t bail them out of.
Leesville jumped out to a 42-22 lead at the break and fended off a late rally to take an 81-72 victory over the Rebels Tuesday night.
The Rebels outscored the Wampus Cats 20-12 in the third quarter and 30-27 in the fourth.
Devin Gautreaux paced the Rebels with 28 points and eight rebounds and Randy Primeaux had 13 points and five assists.
Traven Guidry added 13 points, six rebounds and three steals; Dylan Boudreaux scored 10 points; Dagan Patin had 10 points and three steals and Taatum Rubin had three points.
