Tribune’s football winner announced

Representing Sunbelt Motors, Wayne Gautreaux was named winner of the 2014 Annual Rayne Acadian-Tribune’s Football Prognosticators Contest, a race that was up for grabs until the very last week of picks.
Following 12 weeks of football action, Darby finished the contest with a 101-43 tally or 70% selection rate.
In a very close second was Jeff Meche of Jeff Meche Electrical with a close 69% selection rate with a final score of 100-44.
Gautreaux and Meche were tied until the final week of picks when Gautreaux pulled ahead for the win.
Third place was shared by Curtis Darby of Eastside Custom and Mike Doucet of Don Shelter. Both finished with a 98-46 score or 68% selection rate.
Fifth place was landed by Jimmy Prevost of C.J. Prevost Insurance with a 97-47 tally and 67% rate.
Josh LaGrange at Shelter Corley claimed sixth place with a 66% rate and a 95-49 tally, followed closely by Dr. Jim Rumore in seventh place with a 94-50 tally and 65%.
A two-way tie was seen at 8th place by Donnie Venable of Sterling Fore and Jarrdo Gardiner of Gossen Funeral Home. Both finished with a 93-51 score or 64% selection rate.
Tenth place was held Jerry menard of Trahan Foods with a 92-52 score and a 63% rate.
Finishing out the list of prognosticators were Guy Simon of People’s Credit Union and Billy Dischler of Grand Daddy’s Crawfish (86-58).
