Evening ceremony joins Serianna Dugas, Kyle Guthrie

 

WESTLAKE - A seven o’clock evening ceremony on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church joined in marriage Serianna Elizabeth Dugas of Lake Charles and Kyle Thomas Guthrie of Lake Charles, formerly of Rayne. The vintage-style ceremony was celebrated by Fr. Scott and Todd Finley.

The bride is the daughter of Derrick and Claudia Dugas of Lake Charles. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Huval and Mr. and Mrs. George Dugas, all of Moss Bluff. She is a 2012 graduate of Sam Houston High School and is attending attending college.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brent Guthrie of Rayne and Shawn Johansen of Lafayette. His grandmother is Mrs. Julia Guthrie of Rayne. He is a 2011 graduate of Rayne High School.

For the wedding ceremony, Scriptures were recited by Dawn Lewis and Kathy Harrell.

Ushering guests was Nathan Burt, a friend.

Escorted by her parents, the bride wore a vintage-style wedding gown of ivory satin designed with sweetheart neckline, lace capped sleeves, and a slightly ruched bodice. The full, cathedral-length skirt was accented with medallion-encrusted pull-ups throughout. A headpiece held a chapel-length veil of sheer illusion detailed with a lace hemline. She carried a bridal bouquet of ivory roses accented with baby’s breath and greenery.

Attending her sister as maid of honor was Shaina Champagne. Bridesmaids were Samara Rigmaiden and Sylvia Dugas, sisters of the bride; Lauren Guthrie, sister of the groom; and Marina Grase, cousin of the bride.

Bridal attendants each wore a knee-length dress in a champagne tone with an all-over lace overlay and carried an autumn floral bouquet.

Serving as flower girl was Brooke Guthrie, sister of the groom. She wore an ivory, knee-length dress with a matching lace overlay and noted with sequin details throughout.

Selected as best man was the groom’s father, Brent Guthrie. Groomsmen were Matt Champagne and Thomas Rigmaiden, brothers-in-law of the bride; Andrew Abshire, grooms’ best friend; and Derrick Dugas, brother of the bride. Ring bearer was Dominic Dugas, brother of the bride.

Male attendants wore brown slacks, ivory shirt, and coordinating suspenders and tie.

Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at the KC Hall in Moss Bluff.

Guests attended from Rayne, Lafayette, Lake Charles and points of Texas.

Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held Friday, Sept. 20, at Jagg’s Bistro in Lake Charles.

The couple plans to reside in Lake Charles.
