Rice City Seniors enjoy luau-style afternoon

Rice City Seniors Ball set for Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.

The Crowley Rice City Seniors gathered for a lively hula-fillled afternoon at the home of Jane and Johnny Quibodeaux on Saturday, Sept. 28.

A large group turned out for the event, which lasted from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Quibodeauxs’ home was well-decorated, complete with palm trees and grass umbrellas. The couple actually added a deck to their residence in anticipation of the event, and had a realistic tropical beach backdrop set up for those in attendance to make fun pictures for their scrapbooks.

Everyone enjoyed the great food, which included ham, roast beef and a huge variety of covered dishes that had been brought by all the individual club members.

The group will hold its annual Rice City Seniors Ball at the International Rice Festival Building in Crowley on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door. For more information, call Phyllis Benoit at 785-2499.
