Rayne Chief of Police Carroll Stelly announced the Rayne Police Patrol Division is still investigating a crash which occured on I-10 east bound near the 90 Mile Marker, shutting down the interstate for several hours.

Around 11:24 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, a tractor trailer carrying a load of plywood was involved in a crash and it lost its load all along Interstate 10. The driver escaped without serious injury but both lanes were shut down for several hours as recovery equipment removed the tractor and trailer. One lane was opened to traffic later in the morning, in addition to the remaining lane as debris was recovered and the wrecked vehicle removed just after the noon hour.

All I-10 eastbound traffic was detoured through Rayne on The Boulevard and then down Hwy 90 to Duson.
