A change of venue has been announced for the Wednesday law enforcement forum being hosted by OneAcadia.
Laurie Suire, CEO of the parishwide business initiative, said the event has been moved to the Rayne Civic Center Ballroom.
The forum will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is open to the general public at no charge.
“We are very excited about this event. The law enforcement officials asked to reach out to the businesses and we hope to have a great response,” Suire said.
Chiefs of police and officials from the parish sheriff’s office have collaborated to put on this event.
“In addition to trends that affect businesses, like counterfeiting and theft, there will be essential information shared about how management can identify potential threats before they occurs,” said Suire.
“Attendees will learn how to be prepared to deal with violent crimes and active shooters through site surveys and business mapping — and our panelists will share how.
“Having a pulse on their workforce and recognizing signs can help them be proactive in avoiding danger,” Suire added. “This is a presentation business owners don’t want to miss.”
This free forum is the result of discussion during a recent OneBreakfast meeting.
Anyone interested in attending is asked to register by emailing info@oneacadia.com or calling 337-789-5244.
“Attendance is free, but we want to make sure we are prepared,” Suire explained.
