Agents with the Crowley Police Department Narcotics Unit served a search warrant last evening on a residence located at 621 N. Western Ave. in Crowley.

“We have been working this location for some time now and finally established probable cause to obtain a search warrant. This was a good seizure for our department,” stated Chief KP Gibson.

Once the Special Response Team (SRT) secured the residence, agents began their search. During the search, agents recovered 5 ounces of high grade marijuana known as “Hydro”, 70 Molly capsules which are a form of MDMA and 118 pieces of crystal meth. Agents also seized currency from drug proceeds.

Arrested was Tyson L. Winbush, 27, of Crowley. He has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, manufacturing MDMA, possession with intent to distribute crystal methamphetamines and monies derived from drug proceeds. Winbush may also face charges of possessing a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone as the location of the search was several houses away from Ross Head Start.

“Our officers are working hard for our community. I am proud of the work that every member of the department is doing. They deserve all of the credit,” stated Gibson.
