Attakapas Study Club enjoys smocking program

 

The Attakapas Study Club of Crowley met on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the home of Shirley Griffin. There were 14 members and two guests present.

The president, Roy Lynn Trahan, called the meeting to order and asked Shirley Griffin, program chairman, to introduce the guests. 

One of the guests, Brenella Joubert, then presented a most entertaining and informative program about smocking. Joubert displayed some of the beautiful smocked dresses that she had made for her granddaughters over many years.

The business session of the meeting was held after the program and the meeting concluded with refreshments served by hostesses Liz Regan, Roy Lynn Trahan and Shirley Griffin.

Members present for the meeting were Ella Bertrand, Erma Breaux, Jackie Buescher, Jerrie Fontenot, Betty Duhon, Shirley Griffin, Barbara Lengefeld, Bonnie Matirne, Gerry Meche, Joanna Pruitt, Elizabeth Regan, Dot Simon, Ethel Thibodeaux and Roy Lynn Trahan.

The guests were Jackie Keyes and Brenella Joubert.
