On Monday, Mayor Greg Jones signed a proclamation declaring this weekend as the annual Homeland Civic and Social Organization Crowley Day celebration. On hand for the signing of the proclamation were, from left, Wendell Milson, Nelwyn Carter, Sheral Garrick, Mayor Jones, Marie Breaux and Walter Andrus.

The Homeland Civic and Social Organization will once again host the annual “Crowley Day Dance and Picnic,” which is set to take place this weekend

Natural disasters have been known to bring out the best in south Louisiana residents.
Unfortunately there is a small part of the state’s population who, influenced by nothing but greed, have used a tragic circumstance for their personal monetary gain and the term “price gouging” has become a sad part of recovery for victims of many past storms.
